She was a persona non grata to many, known for her mania for creating havoc. People stayed away when they saw her approaching. Now, she is friendly and easy-to-talk to! Her change in demeanor was widely noticed by the community.
In addition, like the alpha of a pack, she leads her friends to participate in ANL community events. Over the years, through her attendance for the on-site events, we knew for sure that she would cross the SEA and bring her support to the Next Level.
Who is she and what has she done with the real Joyi Wong? Let’s find out.

<At the count of 3, the Moderators pointed at Spock. Spock laughs as he struts up to Joyi.>
Spock: Boo! Congratulations on being nominated Audista of the Month!
Joyi: ;woot x1926434759. OMG! Wah.
Spock: Let’s have a chat! I believe people including my own Mod team would like to find out more about you.
Joyi: Ehhh… I scared I donno what to say.
<Spock throws a side glance at the Mod team beaming back at him.>
Spock: No worries, just go with the flow. ;make. I know you’ve played Audition for a super long time. When did you start playing?
Joyi: Since the day AuditionSEA started, in 2006.
Spock: How did you get started on it?
Joyi: Started as a casual player, trying out the game in a cybercafe called PC Bunk, and someone approached me to join her guild (DD). Since then I started patronizing PC Bunk frequently and eventually played Audition till today.
Spock: You know, the community has noticed that from being super toxic, you’ve become pretty chilled and peaceful. What made you stop being toxic? HAHAHA.
Joyi: I would probably say growing up and maturing, and getting bored of what I did the last few years is probably the reason. I used to start off being really toxic with other Audition players. There were incidents that my friends and I started in the game and ended up fighting in real life when we were still young.
Spock: Yeahhh that I heard.
Joyi: Gradually that became just in game scolding. At this point I think I’m “old” already. Even pressing the keys has started to be a problem at times. I don’t think I have the energy to even scold people or start a dispute with them anymore…
<Hyunette chuckles from the sideline as she relates to feeling old.>
Spock: Do you think ANL harsh rules played a part? ;hoho
Joyi: Partly yes. It used to be a 7 days ban in AuditionSEA, but it’s a 30 days ban in ANL. The penalties are scary now. We can even get IP or PC banned for this. No way I’m going to risk having to buy a new com.
Spock: Ha, I see. It’s been a long journey with this game. We’ve seen you participating in many on-site tournaments. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for taking part in those that I organised too.
Joyi: You’re welcome ;make.
Spock: Since you said you’re getting old and even pressing the keys is a problem sometimes, why do you still join those events even though there’s a high chance that you won’t win? Most players are super pro.
Joyi: I feel that it’s not about winning at the event or not. It’s about the thrill. The feeling is different when you play at home, and when you play it on the event ground. If I win, that’s great. If not, the experience is just as memorable. I enjoy cheering for my friends as I watch them advance to the next round too. Winning or not doesn’t matter. It’s the fun that I cherish.
Spock: What is one thing you would like to see in Audition Next Level?
Joyi: Hopefully, more real life events so I can perform better from experience. And be there with my friends too.
Spock: Okay! And before I rejoin my team over there, any special message to anyone?
Joyi: I hope PIERCE can chain again as he used to, and I hope my boyfriend Jenson can win me some day, it’s getting boring to win him (hehe).
Spock: LOL. ;make Oke thank you for your time. Stay chill and congrats on being Audista of the Month!
<Spock rejoins the Mod team as they rejoice at his successful interview.>

As the night drew near… The Moderators sent Spock for a heart-to-heart interview with Glenn.
Spock: Hi Glenn! When did you start playing Audition?
Glenn: I started playing audition, I believe, at the ending phase of beta and starting phase of Season 1 AuditionSEA. It was when I was only about the age of 9-10 years old.
Spock: How did you start Audition?
Glenn: I was in primary school then. My family couldn’t afford a PC for my sister and I. It was at the era when technology was taking many new steps, from mobile devices to personal computers and gaming. I would save up my allowance for school just so I could go to a nearby LAN shop. Many kids from primary and secondary would hang out in this area during the after school hours and it was sometimes even hard to book a slot for an available computer at the LAN shop.
Back then, I was a very shy and timid kid. I barely talked or expressed any emotions, and pretty much didn’t know anyone. Despite that, I mustered enough courage to try out the experience and check it out.
The first step was super scary — signing up with the LAN shop for a membership, filling out a form with personal details and even needing a guardian to sign (required since I was younger than 18). Thank goodness the cashier said it’s fine so, all is well.
I recall many music backgrounds and sound effects of games. Alas! The holy grail that got me hooked — Audition Dance Battle. I wasn’t good at most modes and nothing interested me much. I believed I lacked talent for the game, but a certain mode caught my attention.
Beat-Up. And… I have been hooked to the game ever since.
P.S. I’m not any good at Beat-Up.
Spock: Oh sorry. Forget to ask you to introduce yourself. ;lala
Glenn: I’m 24 this year, currently working as a Military Expert in the Republic Of Singapore Navy. Time to time I will be away sailing for deployments and ops tasking.
Besides my work-life and Audition, I play darts leagues such-as Super League and Super 2, For those who are into the Sport I am in S1 and Premier league for this current season under Team EZ4BUN @Forest3 and Team TITANS @M2Ginza Premier.
I also play for Team Navy Basketball. I guess I’m a very active person hence my love for interacting with people and making new friends wherever I go. It is very fulfilling and enjoyable to be of help to others and be good at what I do.
Spock: If you’re active, you must be fun! What’s a fun fact about yourself then?
Glenn: Not exactly a fun fact, but if we bump into each other at events or competitions, I’m known to slam the Keyboard 😅🤣 … sorry in advance HAHA.
Spock: ;hoho, back to ANL. What do you like about the game?
Glenn: I’ve been playing this game ever since I was a kid. It has allowed me to interact and made many friends over the years. Some of which are friends for life and I can confidently say without a doubt that in times of need they will always be around.
Frankly, it is hard to find people who will stick around and understand you on the same level. Through this game, I find that a bridge has been formed to enable people to freely meet and express themselves in various ways.
Especially that now I have been building my FAM bdsm, I wish to not only know them as friends, but also to take special care of them and nurture them to share my goals in giving back to the community and growing it into an amazing one. Together, we hope to relive the fun times and create new experiences which many of us shared in AuditionSEA.
Due to the merger of SG/MY and PH,I’ve made many new friends from the Philippines and other regions of the globe including Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and even Dubai. ANL is a game that can bring about people from far and wide even though the community is considered not very big. It is truly evidence of a growth that could be amazing if nurtured right. Throughout the years of ups and downs, high or low, this game has been a comfort in its own way and I greatly appreciate it for being around.
Spock: Wah, I can definitely feel your passion for ANL. That being said, what would you like to see in the game?
Glenn: I would personally like to see more in game events held by administrators, a fun little challenge here and there to motivate players new or old to test their skills and maybe even show off.
There have been some already and I am very happy with how the server has implemented the Moderators to be the acting voice of the community and to also be an eye for the admins. It’s a two way traffic and they have been doing an amazing job with their roles.
Spock: Thank you thank you. I will pass your compliments to my comrades. Hehe… Any special message/shoutout?
Glenn: Firstly, to my beloved bdsm, thank you for embarking on this long journey with me to grow together as a united FAM. Thank you to those who are still with me, to those who are not as well, whether you bear bdsm on your title. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us become the FAM we are today, and helping me along the way to grow as a person and leader of a great united FAM.
Secondly, hello and sending love from SG to my foreign friends in PH, Viet, TH, Cambodia and even Dubai 😛 y’all are lovely and full of energy. I hope that I can interact more with y’all and learn new things from you as well.
Thirdly, to the SGMY community and all my friends I’ve made and met along the way, I hope with this y’all know me better and would feel comfortable to say HI and together make our community greater. There are countless ways we can do it and I’m sure the more the merrier.
Lastly, to the Mods, thank you for being the avenue we can look towards to raise our concerns, complain even about the smallest of things and ultimately to help make our community better. The works done by you guys may not be seen by all and or transparent, on behalf of the community the biggest shoutout goes to you guys. ❤️
Spock: So touched! I love your special message. Got to go but thanks for sharing. See you around in ANL!
